As part of the response to the Coronavirus (Covid-19) situation, Bishop’s Stortford BID will be funding two security patrol officers to cover the BID town centre area during the hours darkness whilst the lockdown period continues.
With shops and businesses currently closed and the high street area quiet at night, it was felt there was a potential increased risk of criminal activity, so the BID has stepped in provide extra security coverage, working alongside the local Police. The BID funded security will be carrying out regular patrols of the designated area throughout the night. They will be working alongside Police Officers in the town as part of their stepped- up patrols and current operations.
The BID has chosen to work with ParkGuard to provide this extra security service. They are specialists in working with local authorities and police forces to provide this level of support.
Patrols will start from tonight, Wednesday 1 April and continue until Monday 13 April initially, although this will be reviewed depending on Government advice.
