Non essential shops can open their doors once again, provided they are Covid Secure and now we are looking forward to the hospitality sector and hairdressers rejoining the high street. The BID are here to support you in this reopening as we all work together to make the town a safe place for everyone. To help you prepare we have put together some useful information here. This includes the official Government advice which you must read and put into action. We have also added some useful references and a reopening guide.
The BID is also funding some resources to help you manage social distancing in your business. This includes floor signage, tape and signs. These are free of charge to any BID business, please see details below and email Gina on gina@bishopsstortfordbid.co.uk to request. In addition we are putting 4 hand sanitiser dispensers around the town.
As you may be aware HCC have implemented a road closure in South Street, Potter Street and Market Square to give more space to make social distancing possible. The BID have been working alongside East Herts District Council, the Town Council and the Police to create a safe and managed environment in the town. It’s vital we all work together to achieve a safe and welcoming town, and we ask you to manage your queues outside your shops and ensure your customers are not blocking other shops fronts, fire exits or obstructing pedestrians trying to walk round. More advice can be found below in the Working Together document. If you have any issues with this please contact us and we will assist.
We are looking forward the second phase of opening when we can welcome back hairdressers, nail bars, pubs, restaurants and more. We will be closely monitoring the situation over the next month and welcome any feedback on additional support we can provide you and the town to assist you and your customers. Please keep a check on this page as more advice and documents will be added.
