Mourning Queen Elizabeth II

The Bishop’s Stortford BID is saddened to hear of the passing our Queen Elizabeth II and we join with the nation in remembering an incredible lady who served her country for 70 years.

Books of Condolence have been opened and are available in the Town Council Office Monday to Friday from 09:30 to 16:00 and in the Tourist Information Centre 09:30 to 16:00 Monday to Saturday except 12:20-1:00 when it is closed for lunch.  The books will close at 16:00 on the day following the funeral.

Flowers may be laid near the War Memorial in the Churchyard of St Michael’s Church or near the War Memorial in Castle Gardens.

The local proclamation of the accession will take place in Castle Gardens near the War Memorial at 3:30pm on Sunday, 11th September. All are invited. An announcement regarding the funeral will be made in due course.
