New electronic car park signage has been installed in Bishop’s Stortford and is fully operational in time for the peak festive period.
You will see the four signs on key approach roads into the town centre: A1250 / Dane Street junction; A1059 Riverside; the A1250 Link Road; Bridge Street. The signs show real time space availability in the three big car parks – Jackson Square, Link Road and Northgate End.
The Bishop’s Stortford BID have been working with East Herts Council to look at ways we can improve the parking in the town centre, for both visitors and workers. A number of initiatives have been considered and we are delighted to announce a joint project to help drivers in Bishop’s Stortford locate car park spaces easily. This project is funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and the Bishop’s Stortford BID. The electronic signs will be maintained by Herts County Council.
Gina Thomas, BID Manager said “we know how important parking is to our town, and we believe these signs will make a difference to the traffic flow, both in the town and within the car parks themselves, particularly at peak periods. Working with East Herts to bring this project to reality is a great example of what we can achieve when working together.“
