East Herts Council are consulting on car parking changes they are proposing to bring in across the district. They are looking to:
- Charge on Sundays and bank holidays
- Charge in the evenings up to 8pm.
- Remove the 30 minute free spaces.
The BID are concerned about the impact of these charges, in particular the timing of introducing them and the potential negative effect on footfall this will have in the town centre. As such we have sent a letter of objection. You can view the letter here.
We encourage as many people as possible to object to these changes, quantity of responses will help our views be heard. We therefore encourage you and your staff to formally submit an objection if they will be negatively impacted. You are welcome to use the reasons in our letter.
Please make your views known directly to East Herts. The deadline is 5 August. You must respond in writing, either by post or by email to Dominique Kingsbury dominique.kingsbury@eastherts.gov.uk
