Bishop’s Stortford welcomes back retail, hair & beauty, gyms and outside hospitality

On Monday 12 April we saw a very welcome return of non essential retail, hair and beauty businesses, gyms and eating and drinking venues with outside space. After months of closures these businesses were all able to reopen their doors to customers. Much work has gone into putting in place Covid-secure measures to ensure the safety of all customers and staff.

We were delighted to welcome Julie Marson MP and town mayor Keith Warnell to come and officially reopen our high street. Joined by Karen Burton, Chair of the BID, Chris Smith, Business & Economic Development Manager for East Herts District Council, Michael Smith, Centre Manager of Jackson Square and Gina Thomas, BID Manager they officially cut the ribbon the Monday.

It was great to see the return of visitors to our town centre and we look forward to the next stage on hopefully 17 May when our entertainment venues can reopen their doors and eating and drinking inside is once again permitted.

Thank you to everyone for their support.
