Our new Street Stewards are out and about again this coming week, helping provide reassurance and keep people safe in the town centre, during a mix of dark retail hours and evenings.
They are funded by Bishop’s Stortford BID in response to public and town centre worker responses to public perception surveys, and meetings and conversations with business owners and managers. The service is provided by Optice Security Services. The team work in pairs and are mobile, patrolling the entire BID area.

The Street Stewards work collaboratively with East Herts Neighbourhood Policing Team, seasonal Taxi Marshals at the train station and Bishop’s Stortford Street Pastors -all working hard to keep the town centre a safe and welcoming place to shop, work, live and spend time.
