BISHOP’S STORTFORD BID
2020/21 LEVY INVOICES
News release 31 March 2020
The 2020/21 BID levy invoices are due to be sent out on 1 April 2020 to all businesses within the BID area (with a rateable value over £10,000) for the upcoming year. In light of the current situation we will be delaying the sending out of these invoices for the time being.
Bishop’s Stortford BID has joined the campaign organised by British BIDs and the ATCM, of which Bishop’s Stortford BID is a member, to lobby the Government to offer a one-year holiday payment, just as they have done with the rates. The funding of the BID would continue, but instead the request is for the funding to come from the money allocated to local authorities as part of the Coronavirus business support package. Bishop’s Stortford BID has contacted local MP Julie Marson to ask her to help put our voice forward. She has assured us of her support during these challenging times. At this stage we do not know the outcome of this, although we would expect an answer within the next few weeks.
Once an answer is given on this from Government we will update again on what will happen with the 2020/21 levy invoices. If a BID levy holiday is not possible, the BID will be as flexible as possible with payment deadlines and will continue supporting businesses through these challenging times.
