As you will likely be aware, the 2026 Business Rates Revaluation comes into effect from April 2026.

SUMMARY
The main change is that all business properties are being revalued nationally based on rental market conditions as of April 2024. This means your business rates bill may change — it could go up, down, or stay similar — depending on how property values in your area and sector have moved.
Alongside this revaluation, some temporary discounts (reliefs) that many businesses have received in recent years are also changing. These relief changes may affect bills, but they are only one part of the picture — the revaluation itself is the biggest factor.
To help manage changes:
- Lower national multipliers are being introduced
- Government phasing rules will usually limit sudden increases
- Some sectors, including pubs and live music venues, will receive additional targeted support

- Check your new rateable value When published, look it up on the Valuation Office Agency (VOA) website.
- Check your property details Make sure the description, size and use look correct.
- Look at your current rates bill Note any discounts you receive now, as some may change from April 2026.
